We are looking for a mixed animal practitioner or small animal practitioner willing to learn and practice large animal medicine who is a team player, has good communication skills, compassion, and a desire to practice high quality veterinary medicine in a rural setting. We believe in creating a welcoming, family-like atmosphere in which staff and clients are treated with the respect they deserve, and in which patients are treated with compassion and expertise.
Vale Veterinary Hospital is a mixed animal practice in Vale, NC. It is staffed by the practice owners and two full time associate veterinarians. The practice owners graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and the associates graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014, and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.
The practice is approximately 75-80% small animal. The large animal practice is mainly beef cattle and equine, but it also includes some dairy cattle, sheep, goats, swine and camelids. We provide 24 hour emergency care for large animals only. We have an exceptional staff, some of whom we have known for 10 years, including 8 registered technicians, receptionist, and 3 assistants.
The veterinary hospital was built in 2010 which has both small and large animal capabilities. The small animal practice includes a digital x-ray machine, GE Sound brand new ultrasound, in-house Idexx blood analyzer machines, K-Laser therapy, and two isoflurane/sevoflurane anesthesia machines.
The large animal practice has a portable digital x-ray machine, power float equipment, and reproductive ultrasound equipment along with 2 mobile veterinary units. Our practice radius is approximately 50 miles. Emergency calls are forwarded to the doctor on call for large animal only. There is a rotation between 3 other doctors for the on-call schedule.
We are eager to establish a long term working relationship with a veterinarian who would welcome the rewards and challenges of a mixed animal practice in this rural setting. We would love to attract someone with a strong interest in small animal medicine but be willing to practice on large animals as well. New graduates are welcome to apply.
