Equine Medical Center of Ocala is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible internal medicine specialist to join our full-service equine practice in Ocala, FL. The successful applicant will share in-hospital internal medicine responsibilities with our current ACVIM/ACVECCS specialist, with opportunities to expand currently offered services and develop an ambulatory caseload. The Marion County horse population is diverse, including a range of breeds and disciplines with predominance of Thoroughbreds in training, Western performance, show horses, and breeding/foaling. We are home to Horse Shows In the Sun Winter Circuit, Florida Horse Park, and the state-of-art World Equestrian Center South scheduled to begin hosting shows in late 2019.
EMCO is located in the Horse Capital of the World and offers primary and tertiary care services to horses from south Georgia to Wellington, FL. Completed in 2003, facilities include 2 surgery suites, 4 examination rooms, on-site full service laboratory and pharmacy, and 58 stalls in 4 barns, including a neonatal intensive care unit and isolation barn. We are the only equine hospital in Marion County offering specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Theriogenology, Ophthalmology, and Emergency and Critical Care. We are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostics including: SonoSite X-Porte ultrasound, SonoSite Edge portable ultrasound, GE Logiq ultrasound, Sound Next Equine DR (14x17 and 11x14), videoendoscopy (1m and 3m), Hallmarq standing MRI, and Mie nuclear scintigraphy. Our doctors are supported by a service-oriented administrative staff, 24/7 experienced nursing/technical staff, and 5 veterinary interns.
