Professional Opportunities: This position will be located at the Medical District Veterinary Clinic, which is located in the Illinois Medical District, Chicago, Illinois. The Medical District Veterinary Clinic is well equipped with modern surgical and dental facilities, in-house laboratory, digital radiography, computed digital dental radiography and ultrasound. This position will report to the Director of the Medical District Veterinary Clinic.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a DVM or equivalent degree and ability to obtain Illinois licensure. Hardworking, fast paced, engaging, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge and skills in general medicine of dogs and cats, preventative health care, practice-level surgery and dentistry are preferred. Candidates from all experience levels are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as we serve a large Hispanic population. Candidates with experience in small animal exotics are also encouraged to apply, as we are interested in expanding care to small animal exotics.
Duties: The successful candidate will perform a high level of general practice on dogs and cats while working with a team of three primary care doctors. The successful candidate will also work closely with a board certified surgeon that performs surgeries in hospital, as the demand requires. Additionally, applicants need to have a desire to teach and mentor veterinary students on a daily basis. Other responsibilities will include promoting the College of Veterinary Medicine through outreach within the Chicago area educational systems.
