Island Animal Hospital located in Saint Simons Island, GA is seeking an Associate DVM to join our practice!

Island Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital providing complete medical, surgical, dental, boarding and grooming care to our beach community and the surrounding area. We are seeking a part-time associate doctor to work 2.5 days per week, with the potential to become full-time in the future, if desired. Our team truly enjoys working together to care for our patients and building long-term relationships with our clients. A successful candidate would be a well-rounded general practitioner who enjoys client education and possesses strong communication skills. We welcome a doctor who appreciates being able to collaborate with other doctors on cases and share ideas or best practices. Experience with small exotics is a plus, but not required.

About The Hospital

Have a minimum 2 years of experience as a veterinarian.
Be able to easily connect and communicate with clients and team members alike.
Be passionate about providing high-quality medical and surgical care.
Have a desire to continuously learn and grow personally and professionally.
Candidate should also possess:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
Current licensure in good standing to practice in Georgia
Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures delivering high-quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines, diets, supplements and other appropriate services.
Maintain thorough medical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, remains active with continuing education.
Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
