We are a fully equipped, progressive shelter providing for the care of more than 2500 adoptable animals every year. We are seeking a full-time veterinarian who is experienced in practicing high quality medicine using digital radiography, digital dental radiography, Dentalaire dental machine, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, fully-equipped surgery suite and a highly qualified staff of technicians and volunteers to support you daily. There is also an emergency and specialty practice less than a mile away that we enjoy a close working relationship with when necessary. Along with the medical team, our veterinarian works closely with the behavior department, an enrichment team, the humane investigations officers and a large and dedicated group of volunteers and fosters to enhance and cultivate a positive experience while the animal is residing at the shelter. Through collaborative efforts and enrichment across all departments we strive to reduce stress and promote effective strategies to move animals from admission to adoption. Hospital responsibilities include: - Orchestrating medical care of cats, dogs, and rabbits in our care in-house and in foster care
- Surgery including but not limited to spay/neuter (including pediatric)
- Other surgeries including but not limited to amputations, enucleations, mass removals, cystotomies, etc.
- Working collaboratively with other departments for the best outcome of each animal
- Supporting humane investigations cases
- Development of SOPs
- Disease outbreak management
- Education of staff and volunteers
