Southwest Veterinary Services is looking for veterinarian that is looking for a job with variety. We do mainly dairy, beef, dogs and cats, but see horses, small ruminants and several other species from time to time. Since our current veterinarians are flexible we could adjust to make the position more small animal or more large animal, but it would still be a mixture. We have clinics in Lancaster, Bloomington, Prairie du Chien, and Seneca WI. The PdC office has large animal haul-in facilities with in-house lab and digital x-ray and a fly tilt table. We do some foot trimming, especially bulls, and semen testing. We also have an equine surgical suite. The Lancaster office has digital x-ray. We provide necessary equipment for the employee. We can provide truck or pay mileage. We have 5 portable chutes for on-farm cattle processing. We use easiscan ultrasounds. We do scheduled herd healths, sick calls and emergency work, vaccination and processing of calves, semen testing, and other general dairy and beef work. We do work for 2 salebarns in the area. ET work could be a possibility but we currently are limited to putting in frozen embryos. Farms range in size from 35 cows to 1000. We practice in SW Wis and NE Iowa along the scenic Mississippi River valley. There are plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities. The local schools have good reviews and several have recently completed building projects. LaCrosse WI and Dubuque IA are about 60 miles away and Madison WI is about 90 miles away. We provide boarding and grooming for small animals in the Prairie office.
DVM or equivalent licensed to practice in Iowa and Wisconsin. Minnesota license would be a bonus. Accreditation for small and mixed animal and caudal fold bovine Tb testing certification. Attaining competency doing rectal palpation/ultrasound pregnancy checking will be necessary. Emergency on-call duty is shared.

Southwest Veterinary Services is a mixed animal practice in southwest Wisconsin. Dairy and beef make up the majority of our large animal work. Dogs and cats make up the next largest part of the practice. We also provide care for horses and small ruminants and a variety of other animals. We have 8 veterinarians working out of offices in Prairie du Chien, Bloomington, Lancaster, and Seneca Wisconsin. Our staff includes 3 CVTs and 3 groomers. We have in-house blood chemistry, digital x-ray, ultrasound, cbc, and cold therapy laser. There is also large animal haul-in facilties in the Prairie du Chien office.
