San Luis Rey Equine Hospital is seeking a qualified equine internist to join our team in North San Diego County. SLREH is equipped with comprehensive diagnostics including in-house laboratory, endoscopy, digital radiography, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, nuclear scintigraphy, and computed tomography.
The position will consist of scheduled daytime medical consultations & procedures with adjunct daytime & overnight emergency roles. Duties include receiving and triaging emergency cases, elective cases, teaching and training interns, while working within the unique practice culture.
Candidates must be enthusiastic about emergency medicine & critical care, providing exceptional health care and service to patients while working in a collaborative environment. Friendly and attentive communication is essential within our team-based culture and throughout our local equine community. Qualified individuals must have a DVM or equivalent, NAVLE, CA state license (or ability to obtain through examination and/or reciprocity) and internal medicine credentials.
Previous relevant equine referral emergency medicine experience is ideal. In addition, experience managing equine cases in a team-based, collaborative environment on an emergency and elective basis, is required.
San Luis Rey Equine Hospital has a strong sport horse and thoroughbred racehorse caseload.
