Would you love working somewhere that doesn’t feel like a job? Would you love having coworkers that were fun and easy to be around? If you answered yes to both of those questions keep reading!
Chocowinity Vet Hospital is what you’ve been looking for! With the exception of our new receptionist, all of our staff has been with us for 5+ years. Why would these people stick around for so long you might ask? Because our boss is awesome and truly cares about us!
Dr. Christy Barndt has owned Chocowinity Vet since the doors opened in 2004. She continues to work hard every day and needs another veterinarian to help her out! We see approximately 40 patients every day, sometimes routine, sometimes emergent. We value our clients and their pets and our goal is to keep them happy and healthy. Our technicians work together to support her with anything she needs to make her job easier and we will do the same for you! So, are you starting to feel interested?
You will have all sorts of equipment to help you diagnose and treat the patients you see! We can still refer to specialty hospitals as needed, but we have a lot here to work with. We do most blood work in house, but also send some things out to Zn Labs. Our underwater treadmill is used weekly for our rehab patients. Most recently we purchased an ultrasound machine to be used for abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms.
I’m sure you are wondering what else this place has to offer! Well, of course we are going to pay you for coming here and working Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:30 and every other Saturday from 8:00-12:00. (No Sundays or afterhours required!) Our starting salary for a new grad is $85,000. We will also give you $6,000 yearly for your continuing education and healthcare. When you need a break feel free to use some of the 15 days of vacation that you will have allotted each year. Convinced yet?
I’ve heard it’s very important for new grads to have a mentor and we feel the same. Dr. Barndt is a great teacher and would love to teach you everything she has learned throughout her 21 year career. Asking questions is never a bother! How else can we learn, right? Let us prove to you that everything you have just read is true! Come see our town and everything it has to offer! We are 10 minutes from the Pamlico River, just over an hour from Atlantic Beach, and the beautiful town of New Bern is 35 minutes away. We can’t wait to hear from you!
