Animal Farm is a busy hospital in the Outer Mission neighborhood, bringing quality medical care to pets in the area. At this time, we are using doctors from our sister hospital to staff the hospital, but have a new doctor starting in September and a plan to hire one more in addition to the MD role. We have plans in place that are waiting for the MD's input - a full overhaul of our invoice items/packages and pricing, building an aggressive well care dental program, and building an in-house training program with a path for our assistants to become RVTs. There is an experienced Practice Manager and Lead RVT already in place and waiting to collaborate.

Your Role
Your responsibility will be twofold: leading and nurturing our team and caring for our patients.
Leadership Responsibilities
Partner with the Practice Manager and Lead RVT to define the Identity and Values of the hospital
Champion great client service, from pet health education to resolving client medical concerns promptly.
Detect potential barriers and opportunities, formulating strategies for seamless hospital operations.
With the Operations Advisor and Practice Manager, oversee recruitment, training, development, and if necessary, disciplinary actions.
Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and hospital productivity levels.
Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Lead RVT on the empathetic leadership and strong operational management of the hospital.
Functional Responsibilities
Establish trust and compliance with clients through effective preventive care, diagnostic workups, thorough treatment plans, and follow-up visits
Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans effectively to hospital team and clients
Demonstrate integrity and ethics in all actions and behaviors
Routine veterinarian duties
Who We're Looking For
DVM/VMD required, MBA or other advanced degree, a plus.
A licensed veterinarian in good standing or eligibility for licensure with the state veterinary board.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required, with 1+ years coaching associate doctors.
Comprehensive understanding of operations, management training, budgeting, and key performance indicators (KPI's). Experience with acquisitions in the veterinary and/or healthcare industry is preferred.
Strong skills in operations, management training, recruiting, interviewing, and time management.
Ability to conduct analyses of weekly, monthly, quarterly reviews of financial results, KPI’s and other required data.
Proven ability to develop strong collaborative relationships and deliver significant business results.
Excellent communication skills, in written and oral formats, across various situations and audiences.
Positive attitude, resilience, and adaptability to changes, processes, and structure.

Compensation Base salary range is $200,000-$280,000 with production bonus. $50k sign on bonus available! Relocation packages available!
