Roadrunner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty is the only ER consistently open 24/7, 365 days a year in the Albuquerque area. Our hospital has been around long enough to offer stability- we're from New Mexico, we know our community and we've been around long enough to know that we can stay for the long run. We're owned by a single, local owner, not a national corporation. Our Medical Director is a board-certified surgeon who works in our hospital on a daily basis. The facility offers a separate ICU for our most critical patients, a CT scanner and 2 surgery suites. 

We're looking to hire 2 full-time emergency vets to compliment our current team of 7  veterinarians. We'll match the pay of any other hospital and, while we always focus on client communication and the human/animal bond, you can practice medicine in the comfort and privacy of our newly built (completed in March 2025) ER without owners hovering in the treatment area all day and night.

The schedule is alternating 2-3 shifts per week, the same days/shifts every week, to provide stability and the ability to have a life beyond work. We have 2-3 veterinarians in the hospital most of the time to provide optimal patient care and to aim to get everyone home on time. We offer all of the "standard" benefits (health, vision, dental insurance, matching 401K, paid licenses) plus paid parental leave after a year of employment, $5000 CE allowance and paid PTO in addition to the ability to trade shifts. Salary starts at $225,000 plus production for our weekend overnight position and $185,000 plus production for our weekend day position for experienced emergency vets. Several of our current full-time vets are making over $300,000/year after production.
